Designated Offering
Corvallis School Foundation Family Advocacy and Support Program
Each month, we designate a particular social service organization for financial support through special collections on Sundays. Appropriately for back-to-school, this August, our special offering goes to the Corvallis School Foundation Family Advocacy and Support Program.
This program provides support to families struggling financially, facing food insecurity or experiencing homelessness. It helps well over 380 children in the Corvallis school district, working with families to locate resources like food pantries, employment options, housing, healthcare and other kinds of support.
This month we are also collecting school supplies:
Glue/sticks, Crayons, Pencils (wood or mechanical), Pens, Pencil cases, Markers, Erasers, Notebooks, Colored pencils, Sharpeners, Folders/notebooks/binders, Paper (wide/narrow ruled), Scissors (safety, blunt), Facial tissue box, Disinfecting Wipes Notebook dividers (with or without pockets), Calculator (Scientific for H.S. Age), 12- inch ruler.
There will be a collection basket in the office.
Together, by making a donation this month, we can make a real difference in the lives of children and families in need.
Make a designated offering
Please give prayerful consideration to this month’s designated offering. To participate, make out a check to Church of the Good Samaritan, write “designated offering” on the memo line, and place it in the plate during the Sunday services offertory (or mail it to our office). You can also use the “designated offering” envelope found in the back of each pew.
At the end of each month, we write a single check from Good Sam to the organization we’ve designated for our support. Thank you for helping to ensure that this valuable service can continue!
