Episcopal Church Women (ECW)
Anyone who’s interested is invited to join in ECW events.
The ECW is a community organization within the Episcopal Church; many Episcopal parishes have one. Nationally, the purpose of the group is “to empower the women of the Episcopal Church to carry out Christ’s work throughout the world.” The Diocese of Oregon also has an ECW, and so do we at Good Sam.
What does ECW do?
As mentioned, anyone can take part in ECW events at Good Sam. The group gathers once a month (except during the summer) to make friends, plan activities and initiatives, and enjoy programs of interest.
We support important projects in the community, hold semi-annual bake sales to raise funds for the church, and see that its equipment is well cared for. When someone in the congregation is planning a reception for a wedding, anniversary or funeral, we help with preparations. We also organize special programs based on our interests.
How do I get involved?
If you’d like to build deeper relationships with your parish community and make a difference while you’re at it, come show up at the next gathering of the ECW.
Build friendships and enjoy programs of interest. Potlucks take place in Simpson Hall from 12pm-1pm, on the second Tuesday of even months (Feb, Apr, Jun, etc), with no meeting in August. Feel free to come late, or leave early, as needed.
Help plan activities and fundraising events. Business meetings take place in the Bishop Katharine Lounge from 10:30am-noon, on the second Tuesday of odd months (Jan, Mar, May, etc), with no meeting in July.
