Centering Prayer
Centering Prayer
April 9, 2025 at 6:30 pm - 7:15 pm
Centering Prayer is a form of Christian prayer and meditation that opens our hearts and minds to the presence and action of God within us.
While Centering Prayer is customarily done in solitude, it is a wonderful experience to participate in a communal time of silence. The Centering Prayer Service at Good Samaritan will begin with welcome, prayers, readings, and some simple chants to focus our hearts and minds, and to bring us into the present moment. Then we will have a 25 minute session of Centering Prayer. After a gentle ending of the Centering Prayer time we will conclude with a closing prayer.
Each month, after our prayer service, Fr. David will offer a time of teaching for those who would like to learn more about Centering Prayer. My hope is to teach those who are new, encourage those who are learning, and go deeper with those who have their own established practice.
