Summer Gift Drive
This summer, Good Sam is participating in several gift drives for members of our community. Thanks for all your help!
Vina Moses School Supply Drive
Vina Moses supports local children, and this summer, the Church of the Good Samaritan is once again supporting Vina Moses.
This program collects school supplies and clothing to help disadvantaged children in our community get ready for the school year. They expect to serve around 900 children with this program this year — that’s a lot of pencils!
Please bring your donations to Simpson Hall by August 12th
- Markers
- Colored pencils
- Crayons
- Theme books (college ruled)
- Children’s clothing (girls and boys, sizes 8-14)
- Socks
- Underwear
- Cash donations (for shoes)
The school supplies will be given out to excited children on August 22-25, so the organizers ask that we bring our contributions the week before to give them time to get everything set up.
Our Outreach and Social Justice Committee will deliver the items we donate to Vina Moses after the collection cutoff of August 12th.
Summer Essentials for the Homeless
We’re collecting hats, sunscreen and sunglasses for our friends who are experiencing homelessness. They have no shelter from the sun’s harmful rays.
Look for the basket in Simpson Hall where you can donate sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, and ball caps for men, women and children.
Please keep in mind there are more men who are homeless.
Thank you for your generosity!
Food Basket — Please & Thank You!
Many thanks to all who contribute to the Food Basket! The food is delivered to St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, located at St. Mary’s Church.
We’re reminded that they can accept only unopened packages of non-perishable foods, and they do check the “use by” dates carefully to keep to their guidelines.
Keep up the good work. Three hundred families count on your help every month: thank you!
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
